Mother 3 Tribute: Oriander Mountain

Oriander Mountain is the only scene in the entirety of Mother 3 Tribute to be a miniature IN a miniature. We had to think even smaller scale than usual. We started by simplifying the trees to be made up of our existing tree materials but only referencing a single leaf cluster. The Mountain itself would need to be kept extra basic in its sculpt as well. The only thing kept the same was the dove used in Hinawa's opening scene at Alec's House, we sprinkled them into the aftermath of the explosions. Everything else was made to be as small as possible to meet the needs of the scene. Add in a moonlit matte painting behind it all to bring it home and there you have it- Mini Oriander Mountain. Our custom in-engine explosions with hand made graphics were the cherry on top.
